Intended learning outcomes
After approval of the course, students should possess the ability to:
- Identify theoretical models studied in real situations and calculate probabilities associated with those models;
- Apply the techniques of descriptive statistics and exploratory data analysis in the study of a set of data and interpret the results;
- Apply the techniques of statistical inference and interpret the results;
- Analyze and interpret, with a critical mind, the results obtained by establishing an appropriate report as support for the decision-making;
- Identify, plan and implement appropriate statistical methodology to solve a concrete problem;
- Using the software R (free use) for probabilistic calculation and descriptive and inferential statistical analysis of a data set.
